Rathmines Catalina Festival

Rathmines Catalina Festival

Rathmines was a key flying boat base for the RAAF during World War II and the iconic Catalina was the mainstay of its operations. The festival aims to raise money to restore the base and return one or two aircraft to Rathmines.

I took photos at the festival for several years for a friend and in 2013 was appointed as the official photographer for the festival.

Here are some photos of the Catalina owned and operated by HARS (the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society) completing a series of low level fly-overs during the festival.
